WHIPPET RACING
_* NEW ZEALAND CLUB ANNUAL .MEETING MELD Last evening the annual meeting of the New Zealand Whippet Club was held in the Automobile Association rooms, Mr J. R. D. Johns presiding over an attendance of 38 members. The annual report, which was adopted, stated that the club had had a successful year, the credit balance standing at U2l 5s 4d. Nine meetings had been held during the year. The congratulations of the club were tendered to Mrs A. J. Wing on winning the Dunedin Derby with her young dog, Satin Boy, and to Mr J. R. D. Johns on his success with Charm in the contest for tho champion shield in Wellington.
Five resignations were accepted, and seven new members were elected. The election of olTicer.s resulted as follows:-President. Mr E. C. Kater; vice-president. Mr E. G. Musson; judges, Messrs C. W. Hervcy, W. D. Hilgrove. F. C. R. Junker, and A. E. Smith; handicupper. Mr W. T. Rogers; honorary secretary and treasurer. Mrs F. E. Bill cliff; r-tarlers, Messrs E. G. Musson. R. R. Harper, and G. Gee; clerks cf scales. Messrs A. F. Goddard snd G. Biltcliff: marshal, Mr W. E. Bales; time-keepers. Messrs G. Biltcliff and G. S. A. Biltcliff; stewards, Messrs R. G. Sharpe, J. F. Wing, and G. Biltcliff. committee, Messrs G. Nankivell. R. G. Sharpe, R. R. Harper, J. h. Falcon, and J. F. Wing; delegates to (he National Association, Messrs E. C. Kater, E. G. Musson, and M. Robinson: grounds committee, Messrs W. E. Bates, A. F. Goddard, A. E, Smith, J. A. Coleman, J. H. Falcon, G. Gee, G. Nankivell, J. F. Wing, and F. C. R. Junker: announcer, Mr W. E. Bates: auditor. Mr C. W. Hervov. Mr J. R. D. Johns, the retiring president," was unanimously elected as the club's first life member.
