LODGE MEETINGS
♦ The quarterly meeting of Loyal Addington Lodge was held on Monday evening, the Noble Grand, Bro. E. B. Harris, presiding over a large attendance of members and visitors. Welcomes were extended to Bro. Barnard, of Loyal Waitara Lodge, Taranaki district, and Bro. W. Fright, of Loyal .Volunteer Lodge. The compilers of the lodge programme of activities for 1935-36 reported progress, and several useful suggestions were offered by members. Bro. W. G. Wigglesworth, on behalf of the auditors, presented the annual balance-sheet, which disclosed a very satisfactory position in all funds with the exception of possibly the social fund. The hall committee stated that it had obtained prices for various repairs needed. It was left to the committee to get the work done. The state of the lodge regalia came in for some criticism, and the Noble Grand was deputed to investigate ways and means of restoring it. Bros. J. A. Clarke, H. W. Gourlay, J. McGuinness, and W. G. Wigglesworth were elected delegates to the annual conference of the North Canterbury District to be held on March 15. Two new members were accepted by the lodge. Next meeting on March 11 will be a ladies' night, when flag 500 will be played.
