* RAWHITI CLUB annual meeting The tilth annual meeting of the Rawhiti Golf Club was held in the Oasis Hall, New Brighton, last evening. The president, Mr G. W. Bishop, was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members.
On the motion of Mr W. Queree it was decided that the annual subscription be 7s 6d a year, both for men and women members. The report and balance-sheet, which have been previously published, were adopted. In reply to an enquiry by Mr T. Robins, Mr H. Throp said that the 2s levy was necessary to balance the accounts as the committee considered that the £ls received from entrance fees should be placed to a reserve account, and if the expenses for the current year were on a par with those of last, the increased subscription would enable the club to finish the year with a credit balance of about £7, assuming that the membership of 181 did not decrease. The election of officers resulted:Patron, Mr John H. Shaw; president, Mr G. W. Bishop; vice-presidents, Messrs A. E. G. Lyttle and J. W. Lovell; club captain, Mr H. Throp; secretary, Mr' Mervyn Taylor; treasurer, Mr J. W. Lovell; committee, Messrs C. Brown, W. Queree, D. H. Kennedy, V. Jensen, A. J. Manning, and (appointed by the Ladies' Club) Messrs F. B. Skinner and H. G. Lyttle; auditors, Messrs Lyttle and Lyttle; delegate to the Municipal Links Advisory Board, Mr H. Throp. Mr Throp said that the board was doing all that it could to improve the links. Mr M. J. Barnett had hoped that the new longer lay would have been ready this year, but because of various causes, the scheme would not be completed until the opening of the 1936 season. However, Nos. 11, 13, and 16 would be lengthened this year. When completed, the course would have a length of within 100 yards of the Avondale links. Mr Throp said that in view of a recent case of injury to a player on the links, he intended to ask the board to take out a policy on the lines of that taken out by the Hagley Club, which covered accidents to non-players, and further he would suggest that another policy be taken out to cover accidents to other players. , He would like the New Brighton Borough Council to pass a by-law making all balls lost on the links the property of the club. It was decided that members be asked to refuse to purchase balls from boys on the links. It was a recommendation to the committee that opening day be fixed for Saturday, March 23 It was decided to write to the Advisory Board asking that the subscriptions to the Municipal links date from March 1 each year.
