MUSIC TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION

—,—+ ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Canterbury branch of the Nc.v Zealand Music Teachers" Association ol New Zealand was held on Saturday night, when the president (Mr L. Cliffe Stanford) was in the chair. There was an attendance of 13. The annual report stated that there had been nine new members and three resignations. During the year Madame Otlee had left and her place cn the council had been taken by Mr Alfred Bunz. A tentative programme for the coming year had been drawn up, and it included an address by Dr. J. C. Bradshaw. a lecture on chamber music by Mr E. Jenner, and a recital of music by New Zealand composers. The balance sheet disclosed a credit balance of £6O 19s. The report and balance sheet were adopted without discussion. Officers Elected The following officer.-* w ere elected (or the ensuing year:—President. Dr. J. (_'. Bradshaw. vice-presidenus Madame Gower-Burns and Mr E. Enp-t-on; lion secretary and treasurer, Mr Sidnev Williamson: council. Messrs L. Cliffe Stanford, H. Beck, F. A. Bullock, A. Bunz and 'Misses Betty Hannam. Althea Harley Slack, and Lilian Harper; hon solicitor, Mr V. J. Hunter; auditor. Mr R. L. Bush. Votes of thanks to the retiring president and the Press concluded the meeting.
