DISPOSAL OF ESTATE.
WIDOW'S APPLICATION GRANTED. An order ' that the whole of the estate should be given to Ada Davna Baker, widow of the late Thomas Baker, was made by liis Honour , Air Justice Adams in the' Supreme Court yesterday. The . application was made on behalf of the widow under the Families Protection Act. Counsel for the plaintiff said that by the will ot the late Thomas Baker his widow received a. bequest of £IOO, the income for life of the proceeds of the estate, and a "disposing power" of one-third of the capital. By the will bequests ot £IOO each were made to the Beckenham Association, St. David's Presbyterian Church, and for investment on behalf of the Mayor's Coal and Blanket Fund. The residue of the. est a tfe was to go to three .nieces, Miss Ada Dalley, Mrs Eileen Driscoll, and Miss Mary Ma hood. Mrs Baker had been advised that for the benefit of hef- health she would to go to Australia. The proceeds of the estate -were quite inadequate for her to live in reasonable comfort. His Honour said that the widow's claim upon the estate was paramount. Had the testator given the full facts their proper consideration he no doubt would have made a different disposition of the estate. The attitude of the beneficiaries under the will had been very sympathetic and commendable.
