HOCKEY.

'VARSITY CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING. Yesterday evening the Canterbury University College Men's Hockey Club Held its annual meeting, Mr V. H. Thwaites presiding over a good attendance. Tlie annual report showed a successful year. Three teams had been kept in the field, and the junior team had finished well up in their grade competition. The senior team had won the Intcr-University Hockey Tournament in Christchurch last June, gaining the Seddon Stick. New Zealand University "blues" had been awarded to foui club members, E. Huston, H. Forsyth, H. Smith, and T. T. Turbitt, while four members — E. B. G. Badham, T. T. Turbitt, T. E. Douds, and A. G. Pratt, had gained College "blu«s." Officers for the ensuing years were elected as follows: President, Mr J. G. Poison; vicepresidents,. Professor T. G. R. Blunt, Professor E. Percival, Professor F. Sinclaire, Professor VV. Saddler, Mr J. F. D. White, Mr J.' E. Purchase, Mr C. Holland, and Mr P. Hill; club captain, Mr K. J. Sheen; club vicecaptain, Mr H. Ford; hon. secretary, Mr H. Forsyth; hon. treasurer, Mr E. G. Hassall; committee, Mr C. H. Harrow and Mr J. J. Glen; delegates to the Canterbury Hockey Association, Mr K. J. Sheen and Mr H. Forsyth. The club will begin its first matches on the Saturday after Easter.
