WORLD FLIGHT.
AMERICAN JOURNALISTS', TOUR. A cable received bv the Shell Company from their Singapore ageuts states that Messrs Halliburton and Stephens, the two American journalists who are making a "vagabond" flight around the world, left Singapore on Tuesday, March Ist, for North Borneo and the Philippines. They are due to reach Capo York, Queensland, via Now Guinea, at the end of the month. Thry are flving an American Speed'mail machine called the Flying Carpet, fitted with a Wright Whirlwind engine operated on Shell spirit and oil, and have already spent a j'ear flying through Central Europe, Morocco, and Asia. In India they made an unsuccessful attempt to fly over the top of Mt. Everest, being forced down with log and storm from a height of 20,000 feet. At Calcutta tho machine was fitted with floats for its cruise through the East Indies. Tho journalists hope to follow the eastern coast of Australia from Cape York to Melbourne.
