RUMOURS OF RETURN DENIED. NO DEFINITE INFORMATION. (C'KITED rtiESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTRIC TSLEORAPII—COPYRIGHT.^ (Received March 10th, 7 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 9. Another twenty-four hours have passed with the Lindbergh baby still not found. Officials conducting the search . declare that they are making "progress," but no specific information of any kind is available. A Boston message reports: The Mayor, Mr James Curley, to-day said he was reliably informed that the Lindbergh baby had been returned to its parents on Sunday night, and the information withheld from tho police. The Mayor, answering queries arising as the result of persistent rumours, said his informant was a New York broker, whom he declined to name. The broker, he said, was informed by an insurance man, whose name he also withheld. Mr Curley said ho was informed that the baby was returned to its home after the parents had made an agreement with tho kidnappers not to notify tho police for 72 hours. An Englewood (New Jersey) message states that a member of the Morrow household, who said she was authorised to speak for Mrs Dwiglit Morrow (Mrs Lindbergh's mother), denied the report that tho baby had been returned. Tho police at tho Lindbergh home at Hopewell (New Jersey) state flatly today that the baby was not in either tho Lindbergh or the Morrow homes, and said they knew nothing of the report that the .child had been returned. THE LONG WAIT' EFFECT ON MRS LINDBERGH. (Received March 10th, 11.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 10. A Trenton message states that the New Jersey State police havo not completely eliminated Betty" Gow, the nursemaid of the kidnapped Lindbergh child, from further consideration in their investigation. A Hopewell report states that, the two notes which Colonel Charles Lindbergh received on Sunday are said to have contained information that when the kidnappors considered the time proper and safe they would let him know how he could communicate with them. Tho long wait and uncertainty are beginning to tell on Mrs Lindbergh. M. BRIAND'S FUNERAL. BRITISH REPRESENTATIVES. (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) RUGBY, March 9. At the funeral of M. Aristide Bi-iand in Paris on Saturday, his Majesty the King will be represented by Lord Tyrrell (British Ambassador in Paris).and the Prime Minister by his son, Mr Malcolm Mac Donald.
