Should this state of affairs be allowed to continue? [The secretary of-the Canterbury .Education Board (Mr C.- Kirk) said last night that after recent legislation had made it certain that the Board had power to dismiss married women teachers, the necessary steps were at once taken. The senior inspector was asked to make recommendations, a<N. the position of 10 married women was discussed at the last meeting of th> Board. More than half of; these had been given notice of dismissal, wmje the others were being reconsidered. So far the Board had received no notice of appeals.]
