No agreement having been come to yesterday in Conciliation Council proceedings, tlie principal clauses in the electricians' dispute, dealing with wages, liours, piecework, and bonuses we re referred to the Arbitration Court. The dispute was between the Amalgamated Engineering and Allied Trades Union (New Zealand Council) and the Electrical Contractors' Association and others. The award sought was to cover the Nelson. Westiand, and Canterbury districts It is understood that the facts that the engineers' dispute has not yet been dealt with by the Arbitration Court and that 'the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act is before Parliament orafrated against an agreement being reached. The' Conciliation Commissioner (Mr P. Hally) presided and the assessors for the employers were Messrs G. ■ S. Thompson, EP. Bourke, J. I. Smail, and D. I. Mncdonald, of Christchurch, and L. C. Vickery (Springs-Ellesmere Power Board, Leeston), the Union's assessors being Messrs A. J. Cromie, J A. Wills (Nelson), A. Lemin (Greymouth). M. R. Johnston, J. Barter, and G. T: Thurston (Christchurch). Owing to the Court not having dealt with the engineers' dispute, the metalworkers' case, which was to have come before a Conciliation Council, has been pcistißoaad indefinitely. -
