THEFT AND FRAUD.

MANY CHARGES ADMITTED. (press association telegram.) WELLINGTON,' March 9. Iu the Magistrate's Court to-day, Allan Edward Ross, aged 28, admitted thirty-three charges of theft and three of obtaining credit by fraud. The offences were committed between August, 1930, and February this year. It was stated that Ross had been ail over the North Island. He would represent to boardinghouse-keepers that he was thinking of taking over a bakery business in the place, obtain credit for board, rob the rooms of other boarders, and move on. He was ordered to be detained for reformative purposes for a period ndt exceeding three years. On a charge of failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance orderin favour of his wife, he was convicted and discharged.
