CHAMPIONSHIP MOTOR-CYCLE MEETING.

On Saturday afternoon motor-cyclists from all parts of New Zealand will ride at the New Brighton trotting grounds, when the' championship track meeting controlled by the Pioneer 'Sports Club will be held. TheTe are seven events on the programme, all of which have produced. exceptionally, large entries. The chief event of the meeting wilt be the New Zealand Open Championship, over a distance of 12 miles, from a rolling start, for which 18 riders have entered. Among these are Percy Coleman (Wanganui), the holder of the world's grass track record for a mile;, Harry Mangham (Masterton), winner of the Middle-weight Championship this season; Alby Lemon (Auckland), a title-holder; Beg. Ranby, holder of the South Island Middleweight Championship; W. Viggers and R. Oliver, both of Wellington: R.Grant ( Collingvood); H. and J. Flowers and A. Fuller, of Nelson; W. R. Willmott (Timgru),. and A. ■ Crighton (Dunedin). Local riders, including W. G. Thomas, C. E. Blacklock, R. A. Carpenter, Jack Hobson, and T. R. McCleary, will compete.
