THE COMPETITIONS.
In connexion with the Christchurch Competitions Society's 22nd annual festival, to be held in May, attention is drawn that the entries for the various sections close on the 17th inst. The syllabus this year contains 163 classes. Amongst the new classes are two grades of church choirs, junior choirs, solos from oratorio, solos with obbligato, also a violin scholarship. Apart from the championship medals, there are 12 scholarships to be competed for. The judges are Mr Will liutchens, Wanganiil (vocal and instrumental), Mr Clement May, Wellington (elocution), and Mifes Winnie Robinson, Bunedin (dancing).
