YACHTING.
CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. At the meeting of the Canterbury Sailing and Motor-Boat Association on Monday evening those present were: Messrs J. H. 'Woods Cchairman), A. T. Hound. A. 0. Willcox, H. D. Leeming, M. Smith, W. Toomey, J. G. Simpson, and H. G. Ostler (secretary). Mr P Philips offered a trophy, to tie '"known as the Professor Robert J. Scott Memorial Cup, for a cruising race from L>ttelton to Port Levy. A spcc.a s"b;c"l"l"'ttee was appointed to confer with Mr 1 nilp regarding the conditions for the race, which • will be held 011 Saturday, April 2nd. A proposal from the Canterbury Yaclu Club that the Association prepare a tied register of all boats belonging to affiliated clubs, and give them distinguishing numbers, was adopted. The Otago Yachting and Motor-Boat Association forwarded its congratulations on the province's Sanders Cup win. The Auckland Association advised that it had accepted the remits from the Dominion conference regarding changes in conditions for the Sanders Cup contest, and invited further suggestions from the Association. On the motion of Mr Willcox, M&ssrs M. Smith, P. Dobby, E. Cornish, and T. Robinson were appointed a sub-committee to consider the whole question of plans and specifications for Sanders Cup competitors, and to confer with the Otago Association. It was resolved to hold a speed-boat meeting on the Estuary on a Saturday after Easter. The Association will hold a picnic trip across the harbour on Sunday, April 3rd.
