ACCIDENT TO SCHOOLBOY. When taking a short cut down a bank in St. David street on Monday night Peter Richardson, a pupil of the secondary department of the Lyttelton district High School, fell and suffered a compound fracture of the left elbow. He was removed to the Christchurch .Hospital. Bowling. In the semi-finals, of the championship doubles A. Hewstone and W. Stephenson defeated C. Blair and E. "Muxlow. ' . ' The Recreation Ground. A proposal has been made by tho Mayor (Mr F. E. Sutton) that a start should be made with filling in the new tc creation ground on the reclaimed area near the dock by using the Council's steam truck whenever it is not engaged in other work. Clay- and spoil will be accepted from any owners of sections wishing to have it removed and will be taken at the Council's Convenience. The area will first be covered with scoria, followed by clay and earth. At Monday night's meeting of the Borough Council the Mayor's proposal was- approved. L yttelton ciub. The annual meeting of membeja of the Lyttelton Young Men's Club was held at the club on Monday evening, there being a large The annual report stated that the club had experienced a moderately successful year.
