The interim report of the Economy Commission will be placed in the hands of the Bt. Hon/ G. W. Forbes, ten morrow. The Commission was ally required to report by March Ist, but was granted a week's extension of time. The Prime. Minister said this evening that lie had been informed that the report would be placed in his hands to-morrow. He was unable to indicate when the report would be released tor publication, as its contents had brst to ba. studied by Cabinet. Few reports in recent' years have been awaited with such keen interest. The call for economy is so urgent that drastic recommendations are certain. The Commission had a wide order ° reference, and was instructed to review and report on public expenditure in all its aspects. On the recommendations it makes will depend much ot the session's important legislation.
