ARCHITECTURAL STUDENTS.
The first general meeting of-the Architectural Students' Association, for tliis year was held onSaturday, Mr U. S. Smyth presiding, over a large attend- 1 ance. " : ■' Mr S, D. Harman "iritieUed fie designs submitted in the monthly competition. "A Wronght-iron YerandaK and Balcony to a City Hotel" (senior), and "A Wrought-iron Gate", (junior). Mr Harman congratulated the students on their handling of the difficult subject of Wrought-iron work, and placed the designs as follows:—Senior: H.' 3i Brewster 1, A. P. Pascoe and ,B. "S. Smyth (equal) 2. Junior:' H.' 'SI Stewart 1, H. W. Nelson 2. Student papers were read, by' Messrs. H. J. Brewater, B. S. Smyth, andA/Pi, Pascoe. Mr 6. A.' J. 'Hart concluded the evening with a paper on "Tfiei Prospects of the Profession, and Architectural Education.",
