THE TAKARO SHIELD, The annual contest for the Takaro Shield' between the New Brighton Bowling Olub and the Christchurch Commercial Travellers' and' Warehousemen's Association was held on Saturday. The Travellers entertained those; present to afternoon tea. The Travellers were the .holders of the Shield, having won it last year from the New Brighton Club for the first time Binca its inception. The green was in good ord&r. The winning of the Shield is decided on the aggregate of six. rinks of 21 heada each, and the New' Brighton Club were successfulid regaining the trophy after a series* of interesting and keenly-fought games, the Travellers making up considerable le.eway during the later stages'of the game. • The-final result was: New Brighton 12T„ Commercial Travellers 111,
