HIGH PRAISE FROM JUDGE.

The Ji-.in Horticultural Socielv ) icld its fifth annual show on Thursday Orari, and t-li© success that ■ attended it will long be remembered in the district. The exhibits throughout'the exhibition ■ were .of high standard, hut those in the flowers, decorative; vegetables were of a particularly .•lug' l merit.

The judge, JJr H. B. Millichamp, Ashburton. drew particular attention to the cut flowers and vegetable section. Ho stated that the exhibits in thesf two sections were of a higher standard than that shown at the National Show at Christehureh. In the cut flower section, the general average ij ll through the classes was very good. the vegetable section was the best show of vegetables for quality and i- 1 quantity that lie had ever seen, while the scarlet runners excelled anything previously seen.
