Sir, —Tlio. condition of some of oar City streets, through lack of attention, calls for some comment. 1 understand that the City Council has purchased elaborate tar-sealing outfits. For some reason or other, these are not used at the proper season or in the proper places. There are miles of good tarsealed roads in the City which, through lack of top-dressing at the proper time, fall into serious disrepair, and then the cost of repairing the damage is very heavy. If the Engineering staff or the Council find it impossible to have this work tabulated for urgent attention,- the Chairman of the Works Committee should have something to say in the matter.
