WOODEND. The Woodond Public Library held its annual- meeting .on Wednesday evening,!, a full attendance being recorded. The balance-sheet Bhowod -a credit ot £6.16s 7d; There-are 36 subscribers. The following ' officers were elected: — President, - Mr" J.; Forbes; secretary, Mr If. Rob^rtshaw; librarian and treasurer, Mr G.. Gibling; committee, Messrs AV'. Hewitt," J. Hunter, F. Sheppard, J. : Little,' arid A. Smith; audi-, tor, Mr J. Biillinger. Thursday ■: afternoon the annual meeting atrt-lie <Woodend Ladies' Guild, was held at/ the Parsonage. The secretary and treasurer, Mrs E. C. Pateman, read the minutes of the last annual meeting, and presented the balance-sheet. The president, Mrs H. Ford, complimented Mrs 'Pateman on her excellent work during the year. Jt was decided that various renovations needed in the parsonage be taken. m hand at once, and Mrs Ford and Mrs H. Little were authorised to make the necessary expenditure. A resolution of sympathy with the relatives of Miss McKenzi?, an old member of the Guild, who died during the vear, was proposed by the Rev. Mr Ford, and carried in silence, the members standingAll the officers< were re-elected. Mrs Sills consented to give a paper—Ooiir fererice - Schools —at the next ■ meeting.
