NEW ZEALAND CRICKETERS.
TEAM EMBARKS. GOOD RECORD AND REPUTATION. (UXITED TRESS ASSOCIATION—BT ELECTRIC - TELEGEATH—COPrBIifIT.) (Beeeived September 25th, 12.55 a.m.) LONDON, September 24. The New Zealand cricketers left Loudon this morning on their return to New Zealand. They embarked on the Euahine at the Royal Albert Docks ami were accompanied by a party of English cricketers and friends who were making the trip to Southampton. The Euahine leaves Southampton at noon to-morrow. All the members of the team are fit and well. Several of them played in charity matches during the last few days before their departure. T. C. Lowry said the team was highly pleased with the results of the tour, although the weather frequently handicapped the side. The team's record was quite satisfactory, and showed the continued progress of Now Zealand cricket. The players had all done their best to make the tour a success. Personally, he was highly pleased with their performances on the field, and their behaviour off. "I think the side has been a credit to New Zealand," lie concluded.
Mr A. T. Donnelly is not returning with the team. Ho expressed his admiration of the high reputation the players had left behind, and said it was understood that never a more popular side had visited England. J. E. Mills was married quietly in London a few days ago. His bride is a young Canadian. They arc proceeding to New Zealand in a later boat. C. S. Dempster gained the distinction of having his portrait published in Wisden's Almanack among the five cricketers of the year. The four others are the Nawab of Pataudi, Verity, Bowes, and Langridge.
