Kingsford Smith left Wyndhani at 2 o'clock this morning, local time. When Air-Commodore C. E. Kingsford Smith hopped off from Wyndham he and his machine were in great heart. He told onlookers that he would be back in eighteen days. The weather conditions were perfect for to-day's objective, which is Cheribon, in Java, a hop ol ! 1532 miles. He passed over Bali (about 800 miles from Wyndham), at 1 p.m., local time.
ARRIVAL AT CHERIBON. (llcceivcd September 25th, I.C a.m.) CHERIBON, September 24. Kingsford Smith arrived at 5.30 p.m., local time. The trip was his longest solo non-stop flight. He did not enjoy tho Timor Sea crossing as he had somo blind flying before dawn, and had a scare over the water when tho gravity tank cut out. lie is tired, but determined to get the record. He will leave at daylight for Victoria Point. Everything is well with his aeroplane. Air-Commodore Kingsford Smith hopes to reach London in seven days, thus breaking Mollison's record flight ot eight days 21 hours from Australia. Tho route is as follows: Miles.
