TRANSFER OF VOTES. MR A. E. ARMSTRONG ELECTED. ELIMINATION OF SEVERAL CANDIDATES. As the result of yesterday's distribution of votes received from other candidates, Mr A. E. Armstrong (Independent Labour) was elected to the City Council with 1810 votes, three in excess of the quota. HOSPITAL BOARD. OFFICIAL COUNT OF FIRST CHOICES. The official count o'f first preference votes polled for candidates for the North Canterbury Hospital Board was completed yesterday, giving 30,826 valid ballot papers, 1693 informal, and 3426 as the qyota required.
