THIEVES ACTIVE.
SEVERAL PREMISES ENTERED. Three baches at Brooklands have heen broken into recently, and during the week-end a house and a boot factory were entered. Using a jemmy to open the door, thieves took mattresses, blankets, crockery, and groceries, and some electric light globes and fittings frorn the bach of Mr J. Campbell at Brooklands. From Mr W Bateman's place, where a window was broken, they took similar goods. Oil and petrol were taken from Mr G. B. Brown's garage. During his absence between 2.30 and 4.30 p.m. on Sunday, thieves broke into the home of Mr L. D. Richards, in Aikman's road. Drawers and cupboards were found open, but only money boxes with a few shillings in them were taken. The bathroom window at the back of the house had been forced open. Boots and shoes valued at about £10 were taken from* the wea j 4? par it T ment of Skelton, Frostick and Co. m Hereford street during the week-end. Entrance was gained by forcing a window at the back of the premises.
