MUSICAL RECITAL.
On Saturday afternoon the pupils, of the Misses M. and. F. Nolan gave a' musical recital in the Orange Hail, Hornby. The hall was artistically decorated with mauve and lemon streamers, whilst bowls of chrysanthemums decorated the stage. Speaking on behalf of the parents and pupils, the Mr Lilly expressed their, thanks to the Misses Nolan for the interest taken, by them in training the children. The following programme was contributed: Pianoforte solos, Peggy Kissel, Zoe Rattray, Hazel Con-way, Basel Gillett, Maureen Lyoskey, Manr Hufferdine, Hope Palmer, Alan Jory, Colin Denmeade, Isobel Johnson, Maureen Scott, Mavis Bass, Mavis Richardson, Dulcie Meale, ~Reg Rattray, Tom . Cannon, Gladys Clark, Kathleen Henry, Alan Conway, Enid Harrison; piano duets, Peggy Robinson and Beth Spice'r, Hazel Conway and Alan Conway, Mavis and Nola Joyce; piano trio, Ron Harper, Percy Baker, and Crossby Moran; violin solos, Miss Merle Halliday, Ethel Earnshaw, Colin Bass; recitations, Mary Hufferdine, Peggy Robinson; character duo, Marls and Colin Bass; skipping dance, Zoe Rattray; Irish jig, Maureen Lynskey; character duo, Dulcie Meale and Maureen Lynskey; songs, Reg Rattray, Alec Rattray, Ron Staples; violin solo, Miss F. Nolan; song, Mrs Ethel Jory (pupil of Miss Stringer). The children were afterwards treated' to afternoon tea by their teachers.
