CANTERBURY MARKETS.
POSITION GENERALLY EASIER. (BY OTJB COMMBRCIAi, EDITOB.) V Friday Evening. There his been a slight firming in ' the price of fowl wheat since the last report. To-day' the quotation for prompt delivery is 4s lid f.ob. s.e., for April-September delivery, 5s Id f.0.b., s.e., and for June-December delivery 6s lid f.ob.. s.e. There is a fair" amount of business passing at present. For milling wheat there is no change.. The quotation for the best Tuscan is ds 3d on trucks and for inferior quality Jiries correspondingly .lower, Oats and Chaff. There is some movement in the oats market, which has weakened. A Gartons are quoted at 2s 8d a bushel, f.ob., s. i., and B's at 2s 6d. These prices are the equivalent of Is lid on trucks for B's and 2s Id for. A'a. There are a few orders coming to hand for small prompt lots. There is no demand for Algerians, which are quoted at Is lOd to Is lid a bushel on trucks. Chaff is worth £2 15s a ton on trucks, which is the equivalent of the f.0.b., s.i. quotation of £4 ss.' Potatoes. The potato market is also a little easier this week. The quotation for April-May-Jane delivery to-day is £4 2s 6d, a ton f.0.b., s.i.—equal to £8 to. £8 2s 6d a ton on trucks. For July-August-September delivery the quotation is £4 12s 6d a ton, fo.b., Sl jn the small seeds market there is no change to report, and little business is being done with the North Island.
