FAREWELL PARTY.

Mrs T. J. Edmonds and Mrs H. S- Williams entertained a number of their friends yesterday afternoon at a pleasant reception, held at Ballantynes, in honour of Mrs A. L.. Cropp, who is leaving to-night for Wellington, and will join the Mataroa on Tuesday for England. * The private reception room, where the guests assembled, was decorated with dahlias, and the tea-tables with roses. Mrs Edmonds wore, a handsome frock of black lace and .a close-fitting black hat, Mrs Williams wore a black georgette rfrock trimmed (with ecru lace and a becoming little black felt that. Mrs Cropp's smartly tailored frock of raven's wing blue tricoline ■ was worn with a felt hat to tone, trimmed with shaded blue ribbon. An .amusing limerick competition was won by Mrs R. WaH w °rk. The guests, who joined in wishing Mrs Cropp an enjoyable holiday, wqre Mrs H. H. Wauchop, Mrs Murray Hobbs, Mrs R. A. Home, the Misses . Morkane (2), Mrs R. Wallwork, Mrs Robinson Hall, Mrs W.
