Mr Barnott joined the -New Zealand Railway i Department at Auckland in 1889, but he has spent the last 26 years in Jthfl Argentine, where he now nolda a post* at Buenos Ayres of General Assistfint to the Chief Accountant. "His "two daughters, who -are \ married, are settled in the Argentine. .» Mr and Mrs W. H. Powell (Auckland) are now in Vienna. Mf is .doing some work there, after which ■' he proposed returning to London by way of Germany and London. Mrs Powell, is engaged in a scientific laboratory, as a chemist: Miss Wynn Swan (Wanganui), -w leaving by the Orjord after England of three .years. Briggs (OptH ■ tiki),' who aVrived her® in November, have spent a good deal of their tinw in the Midland and the Peak district They are' returning by the Tainui tomorrow. 1 w .Mrs B; Prichard has arrived in London after spending sixteen months, in •ißabaul, New Guinea, in a secretarial position. v In 1927 the Rev. and Mrs Rpbert, Blair resigned from the Directorship i of thp Otago School of Religious Edu-, cation, in' order to lurther their i studi&A in general and religious reducatioftin the United ' States. Upon the completion of their final studies at Boston University, Yale, andHHa- t vard Universities, .they decided to revisit England, with a view to bringing their knowledge of educational theory and practice up-to-date, During a month in Scotland they, had opportunity to meet the moulders of religious thought, and as guests of the' 'Educational Institute of Scotland, meeting in Aberdeen in December they had contact with'the educational leaders of Scotland. As guests of Westhill Training College, there - was opportunity to confer with the heads of the .Associated Colleges in the Birmingham arm. In Condon helpful contacts were made with *a representative group, and the opportunity 'to hear the debate on the new Education Bill was not tor be missed. Mr' and Mrs Blair,, who leave tcniay, *vill spend a few days in Paris,. and on their way.baok to Australia will break their journey for a fortnight' in Pales.tinei Thfey will probably arrive, m Wellington towards the end of March.
