' 0 With a acore of 80.2 the team entered 'by Nelson College (A Company, First ((Sadet) Battalion, Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment),. has won the annual competition in the South Island for the Challenge Shield for rifle-shooting presented by the Christohurch Press Company. In the North Island tho eliield/ and cash prize of £lO, was won by Rotorna High" School (A Coinpany, Second (Cadet) Battalion, Hauraki Eegiment), with a scoi-e of 85.9.. - La?t year the shields were won by C Company, Fifth (Cadet) Battalion, Auckland Regiment, with a score of 69.8, in the North island, and by C Company, Fjrst (CRdet) Battalion, Nelson, Marlborough, and Weßt Coait Regiment, with a score of 69, in the South Island. ... Following are the winning teams;— Nelson College—Sergeant I. O. Stace, Corporal N. Jones, Cadets J. A. Wilson,- R. K. Karsten, D. W. Rodie, G. Mac Lean, R. T. Watson, A. C. Tatton, O. Hosking, and D. W. Oxman. Rotorua High School—Sergeants B. Devin, J. Johnson, R. Musgrave, F. Raethal, Corporal J. Hayward, Lance-Corporal H. Duncan, Cadets L. Bungard, R. Brooker, F. Keane, and H. Steele.
