SPEEDWAY NOTES.
Harold Stevens, an Australian rider, will make his first appearance at the Monica Park Speedway to-morrow evening, another Australian who will be seen on the track being Cyril Anderson, who waa here some little time ago.
Percy Lunn : will appear in a match raco with the 'two Australians, this being the first time that a local rider has ridden off the same mark against overseas men.
Lunn has won the Chevrolet Gold Helmet from Blacklock by default. Tomorrow nigh t Ernie Marsh will try conclusions with Norm. Gray, and Ernie Pye will meet . Jack Oakley. The winners of those events will subsequently ride against each other, after which tho .successful rider will challenge LunSi for the helmet.
Jack -Bishop, of Australia, was to i have made an appearance to-morrow night, but cannot do so because of an accident in Dunedin on Saturday evening, resulting in his breaking a leg.
Owing to the large increase in the number , oi| B grade riders,» a special (eliminating race Will be held this woek, the winner of which will qualify to rideitext week. '
