EARTHQUAKE BNEFIT MEETING.
The Pioneer Sports Club has decided in view of the fact that many visiting riders would not be able to remain in Christchurch over the week between the Earthquake meeting (set down for Saturday, March 14th). and the following Saturday, to abandon the second day's meeting, which it had intended to hold on the latter date, and to concentrate its' efforts upon the Earthquake Benefit meeting, for which everything is now in readiness. If favoured with more agreeable weather conditions than prevailed upon the first date chosen, tho meeting should prove an outstanding success, and well worthy of tho cause it espouses and the labour expended to assure of this. The visiting riders have signified their intention of putting in an appearance again, so that good racing is well assured. Great interest is being maintained in the prospective meeting of tho various champions in the middleweight championship, in which a particularly thrilling exhibition of speeding is looked for between Percy Coleman and Tui Morgan, both" of whom have set their hearts upon winning the event. In addition to these great riders there will be quite a number of other speed merchants doing battle for the honours.
