ENTERED DOMINION WITHOUT PERMIT. ; „ ____ (rauSs ASSOCIATION tilboram.) AUCKLAND, February 24. Tlie maximum fine was imposed on a Chinese gardener giving the name Ah Louie, aged 35, for entering New Zealand without a permit. The Collector of Customs said that Ah'.Louie was not the man's correct name. He arrived under another name in 1929. He left after nine months for China, and returned to the Dominion with the papers of the real Ah Louie, who had died on the wa.y to China. He had substituted Ah Louie's photo and thumb-prints by his own, and so gained admission. . - ' . The collector asked for a heavy penalty. Mr W. H. Woodward, S.M., said that this sort of thing must be stopped. Accused was : fined £IOO, in default 12 months' imprisonment, and was ordered - to bo deported.' „
