(Beceivcd February 22nd, 5.5 p.m.) ' LIMA, February 20. 0 , Approximately 60 persons were killed in to-day's abortive revolt. They comprised 40 loyalists and 20 rebels. I- TROOPS SUFFER SEVERELY. J' LIMA, February 20.,. • An attempt to overthrow the Gov--0 ornment of President Luis Cerro early this morning failed, lie conspirators J , fled to Callao, where they are sur- ' , rounded by troops. 7 Tho Uovernmeiit troops suffered severely in the fighting at Callao today, which quelled the short-lived revolt. civilians 1 were also killed. The attempted revolt was the work of 60 adherents of the former President, Leguia. They attacked the palace at daWn, but the guards repulsed them, and the insurrectionists retired to Fort Real Felipe in the city of Callao. There they were, besieged by 5 the Seventh Regiment, who captured 3 the fort at noon, killing five. Both _ cities were greatly excited, troops parading in the plaza.
