Serious fires , bfoke otfi nlorning in four. places in Trounson Park, twenty-five miles north of Dargaville. The flames were still raging late to-night, despite strenuous efforts by 100 men to stem the outbreaks, which, assisted by a strong wind, are threatening great damage. The Caretakers say the circumstances suggest that the four fires were deliberately lighted. Trenches were dug to check the fife j but the flames leapt acrdSs the flrohlreaks. • , Trees are being cut down to arrest ths flames, but latest reports indicate that tlio fire iS burning freely. ..
