AIR PAGEANT AT DUNEDIN.
UNQUALIFIED SUCCESS. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) ' IyEJNEDIN, February 22. An air pageant was held yesterday to mark the opening of the Otaga Aero Club's new aerodrome at North Taieri. It was an unqualified success. Weather conditions, thougll a bit bumpy in the forenoon, were favourable, for the greater part of the day. A crowd ot over 10,000 was present and an excellent programme was run off without a, hitch or mishap of any kind, pilots and machines competing from all over the Dominion. The following clubs were represented : Otago, Southland, Wairarapa, Wellington, Canterbury, Marlborough, also the New Zealand Air Force. Mr Oscar Garden was among the competitors. Eesults: — : ALL TRANSPORT RACE,' First heat —Flight-Lieutenant Whito (Spartan). Second heat: Squadron-Leader J. L. Findlay (Moth). Third heat: FlyingOfficer Olsen. \ Final Flying-Officer Olsen .. 1 Squadron-Leader Findlay ~ _ 2 Flight-Lieutenant White ... 3 LANDING COMPETITION. Squadron-Leader M. C. McGregor 1 ACROBATIC COMPETITION. Squadron-Leader McGregor and Flying-Officer Olsen (equal) 1 OTAGO AERIAL DERBY. Five miles. First heat: McGregor 1. S'econd heat: J. H. M. Smith 1.
