OBITUARY.

MR \V. S. TANNOCK. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, December 9. The Tung Oil Corporation have been advised of the death at Kawakawa of Mr W. Sterling Tannock, aged 30 years, tho company's technical manager. As a student at the Canterbury College School of Forestry, some years ago, Mr Tannock showed great promise. When he finished his course there, he went to England, spending two years in tho practical study of horticulture at the famous Kew Gardens. Before returning to New Zealand to take up his duties, he continued specialised studies at Reading, lie returned to the Dominion early in October last. Mr Tannock was a son of Mr D. Tannock, who has been Superintendent of tho Dunedin Botanic Gardens for many years. [Mr W. S. Tannock was in Christchurch a few days after his return to New Zealand, and an interview with h'tn appeared in The Pit ess on October 13th.]
