MORGAN BEATS FAIRHALL. (PBESS ASSOCZJLTZOK XXUQKAK.) WELLINGTON, December 9. Ted Morgan to-night or.tpointed Tommy Fairhall, welter-weight champion of Australia, in a thrilling 15round encounter. Morgan's eouth-paw stance was awkward for Fairhall. Morgan was down for eight' in the third round. and only the gong saved him in the fifth, when he was virtually out on his feet as a result of • bombardment of right and left hooks. Morgan, by virtue of better stamina, had the better of the twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth rounds. The judges disagreed, and the referee gave the fight to Morgan, who wa» cheered to the eclio.
