LICENSE FEES UNPAID.

CONTRACTOR'S OBLIGATIONS. Owing over £IOO to the Christchurch City Council in registration ler-'S for heavy traffic vehicles, Leonard Hadfield, a contractor, was charged under the traffic regulations at the Magistrate's Court yesterday with having an unlicensed motor vehicle under the heavy traffic regulations, and with not having an unladen weight plate affixed to Ins vehicle. Mr E. L>. Alosley, S.M., was on the bench. Mr H. Macintosh, Chief Traffic Inspector, said that Hadfield had been before the Court a mouth ago for failing to register two vehicles, and this was the third of his lollies, tie had been found using it in Moorhouse avenue. In reply to a question lrora the Magistrate, Mr Macintosh said that Hadfield then owed the Council £10(j 5s in registration fees for two vehicles, and although he had been into the office to fix up his fees for l-lie current year, nothing could be done until last year's payments had been made. The case was adjourned until next Mondav to allow defendant to pay the fees, the Magistrate remarking that in fairness to other users of heavy traibc vehicle? he would have to pay what was owing. "1 shall have to fine him heavily if the fees are not paid," he said. ~ "If they are paid by then it will make a very big difference."
