A. AND P. ASSOCIATIONS.

KAIKOLTRA. A meeting of the committee of the Kaikoura A. and P. Association was held on Saturday. Present: Messrs It. 11. Laidlaw (president), W. F. Perrin (secretary), A. Gooch (treasurer), \V. Scott, M. Yaxley, F. Lawson, E. Lawson, I.' 1 . H. Flower, G. E. Parsons, J. Griffiths, S. Turner, and J. Leitch. Mr E. P. Sandford was elected a member of the Association. A report of the Agricultural Association was forwarded by Mr W. D Pike. Canterbury Agricultural College ad--vjsed that Farmers' Day would be held on December IGth, and extended an invitation to those interested to attend. As the entries for the butter-fat test were not up to expectations it was decided to extend the time for receiving entries until December 16th. failing ten entries being received the class to be cut out. The prize money was fixed at £2 2s and £1 Is. The Produce Committee reported that the only alteration it had to make was the inclusion of classes for eschalots and maize. This was agreed to. The Hockey Club offered to take over the luncheon booth on the same conditions as last year. The matter was left in the hands of the secretary to deal with. The following were appointed a Ladies' Committee: Sewing, cooking, and flowers, Mesdames A. Edgar, C. Jensen, H Comer, R. T. Pope, H. Osmond, G Harrison. R Clark, A. B. Clark. R. Blackler. R Gibson. E. H. Workman. J Murray, Misses G. Parsons and Acton-Adams. Judges were nominated as follows: Sheen: Messrs W. Anderson (Waiau), D McLean (Waiau), and G. D. MacDonald (Cheviot). Draught horses: Messrs J Wyll>"e CSefton), J S Dollar (Seddon). Liarht horses: Messrs A. Oillanders (Cheviot), L R. C Macfarlane (Kaiwara) Ponies: Messrs T. S. Johnson and H. S. S Kyle (Riccarton). Cattle: Messrs Parlane (Cashmore) and XV A. Banks fßangiora). Dogs: Mr T. Brown. Farm produce, fruit and flowers: Government Officer Mr J. COURTENAY. The monthly meeting of the general committee of the Courtenay A. and P. Association was held on Saturday evening. There was a good attend'ance, and the president (Mr F. McNae) presided. The Canterbury Frozen Meat Company forwarded a donation of £1 Is, which was accepted with thanks. An invitation was received from Professor R. E. Alexander, asking members to be present at Lincoln College on ''Farmers' Day," December Ifith. ' , The secretary of the Canterbury A. and P. Association wrote asking that delegates be sent to a meeting, which will be held in the Canterbury A. and P. rooms, in regard to prices of farm products, etc. The president and ricepresidents were appointed to attend

as delegates, and as many others as possible were asked to be present. The secretary reported that the points prizes had been won as follows at Die recent show:— The YV. C. Bedford Cup, for most points in sheep, with the exception of fat sheep- A. \Y. Adams, 66 points, 1; Jas. ueid, 47 points, runner-up. Pyne, Gould, Guinness's special for most points in crossbreds: A. W. Adams, 11 points, 1 H.. Oliver, seven pc-inta, runner-up. Westaway Cup, for most points in fat sheep: G. Seaton, 14 points, 1; A. Robertson, 11 points, runner-up. Most points in milking Shorthorns: F. E Jones, 8 points, 1. The president's trophy, for most points in draught horses: J. and F. Cogan, 33 points, seven firsts; M. E. Jenkins, 33 points, six firsts, runnerup. Mr J W. YVoodhouse's special for most points in light horses: D. W. YVestenra, 13 points, 1; Miss E. Ward Smith, 11 points, runner-up. E. E Jenkins' Memorial Rose Bowl, for most points in all horse sections: J. and F. Cogan, 33 points, seven firsts, 1; M. E. Jenkins, 33 points, sis firsts, runner-up. Gough Cup, for most points in live stock: A. W. Adams, 66 points. Most points in poultry: E. V. Crouch, 21 points, 1; Mrs D. Finlay, 13 points, runner-up. ■Grain, seeds, and roots (Wright, Stephenson's trophy): F. McNae, 12 points. Mr W J. Jenkins's trophies for first and second points in the produce shed: Mrs D. Finlay, 84 points, 1; Mrs P. F. Roper, 61 points, 2. Malvern Electric Power Board s trophy* Mrs R W. Wilson, 41 points. Mrs Murchison's trophy, _ for most points in flowers: Mrs E. Ridgen. Recommendations were made to the incoming committee in regard to sideshows, holding pens for cattle, and poultry pens.
