BEACH PATROLS.
At a meeting- of the New Brighton Bmough Council last night,, a report j n connexion with tho conference in regard Ic> bench patrols, convened by the Mayor of New Brighton (Mr J. U. Shaw), was submitted. A letter was received from the Waiinairi County Council advising that ii hud voted £5 5a towards the cost of an officially organised and controlled beach patrol, operating on the New Brighton and Waimairi beach this sum. mer. The Mayor said that the latter opened u p a big question. No provision fur a patrolman at Waimairi hud been made, and at the present time they could not accept the donation. Or. Leaver ashed what radius would be covered by each patrolman? •flic Mayor: That is fixed by the Surf Clubs. After difcus-sion tho letter was referred t<> t lie Beach Patrol Sub-Commit-tee.
