ACCIDENTS.
MAN AND WIFE HURT. (press association telegram ) PALMEBSTON ST., December 8. A car tlriven by Mr O. C. Beattie, of !Fcilding, left the road and struck a ditch while overtaking a milk waggon at Bunnythorpe yesterday morning. The occupants were thrown out of their seats, Mrs Beattie sustaining a broken nose, and broken kneecap, and other injuries. Mr Beattie was slightly injured. Both were taken to hospital. BELIEVED DROWNED. (PHE33 ASSOCIATION TELEGBA*.) GISBORNE, December 8. An overturned boat was found yesterday at the entrance to a creek four miles south of Waipiro Bay township. It is feared that two Natives, Whare Koto and Manahera Paurakau, who were fishing, have been drowned. Both were married, with families. It is surmised that when a stormy southerly sprang up the boat capsized. HAND SHATTERED. (PRESS association- telegram.) WELLINGTON, December 8. While working in the Paekakariki Quarry, J. W. Tipene, aged 57, a labourer, had his left hand badly scattered by a- dynamite explosion. He was brought to Wellington by train and removed to hospital, where he is doing well. TWO MEN INJURED. (PBZSS ASSOCIATION TBLEGKAIi.) BLENHEIM, December S. Two men were admitted to hospital aa a result of accidents on the BlenheimNelson road. Arthur Vorbach, a married man, lost control of his car, which crashed into a ditch, and two of his ribs were broken. Sydney Harris, single, when motorcycling from Nelson to Blenheim, collided in a curved cutting with a car driven by Constable Turnbull, of Blenheim, near Eai "Valley. The cyclist was rendered unconscious, and is in hospital with concussion.
