SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.
♦ j AT TAI TAPU. 1 On Sunday the services of th© Tal Tapu Methodist Sunday School anniversary were conducted morning and evening, when the Hon. L. M. Isitt gave stirring addresses. There were large congregations, and the church was beautifully decorated. The children of the Sunday school, who had beea trained by Mr H. E. Peryman, were assisted by tlio church choir and rendered special music. Miss Ana Tobeck was at the pipe organ. In addressing the congregation, Mr Isitt described the time as a spiritual slump. He said there was no finer work than Sunday school .work; the workers were servants of God. and the Sunday school was "fche crack regiment." He said it was a blot on the education of our country that the door of the State schools had been closed agsinfet Chrißt. The education system provided that the children should be splendidly educated in all branches of learning, but that they should not hear a word of Christ, the greatest teacher of all. Politicians have refused it. but progress was now being made, and he wished that La'dy Rhodes, who had been such an arderit worker for religious instruction in schools, could see the progress made. The anniversary concludes on Friday evening with a tea and concert, when the children will give the programme, and presentation of prizes will take place.
