A meeting was lieid in the Bcckenham School last Friday evening for the purpose of considering tiio possibility of forming ii .swimming club. Mr S. R. Evison, chairman of the School Committee, who presided, said that the School Committee hud called the meeting because it thought it would bo a preat pity for the reason to pass without a cl*:b heinjj formed. 7'he trophies and oilier property of the old club were field by Messrs F. J. Dann and J. 11. Shier, as trustees, and they would become available whenever a properly-ronst ituted club was formed. Mr V. <x. Spillor, tv!io attended on behalf of the Cafit"rbur.v Centre, spoko very highly <»f the Berkenham baths. lie said that the Centre was prej-,ared to give active assistance in forming a club, and in arranging an interesting club programme for the season. The Centre would also be prepared to forego filiation fees to assist the new club's finances. He suggested that a club carnival might be arranged for a Saturday in January or March. The following officers were provisionally elected:—Club captain, Mr D. Anderson; secretary, Mr W. Cook. It wa>: decided to call a meeting for Wednesday. to go into the question of a programme, and to invite members of the old club to rejoin.
