LITERARY CIRCLES
At Mrs George Bowron's home, Cashmere Hills, yesterday afternoon, the members of the Cashmere Literary Circle, which meets fortnightly, held the last meeting of the session, at which they entertained the members of "The Table Round," a small literary group, which meets regularly in the City. The annual report of each circle was read, showing that comprehensive programmes had been carried out during the year. The entertainment for tho afternoon was provided by members of tho two groups. The Cashmere members read poems, including many by the New Zealand women-writers, Eileen Duggan, Jessie Mackay, and Helena Henderson, and three short poems, by two young Aucklanders, A. R. D. Fairbaim and R. A. K. Mason. The members of the "Table Round" read an extract from the morality play "Everyman," and two short plays. "The Deluge," a mystery play, and "Father Noah," a modern work by Geoffrey Whitworth. At an interval in the programme, tea was served, and Mrs Bowron presented Miss Nance Roose, who is shortly to be married, with two volumes of A.. A. Milne's plays, accompanied frihh the good wishes pi CHrola.
