Miss Cecily Audibert (soprano) has engaged by the Christchurch Male Voice Choir for iis final- concert of the _ season on Thursday next, at the Civic Theatre. Miss Audibert lias been in Australia for some years perfecting her art, and has returned with a fine repertoire of attractive numbers. On Wednesday evening Misa Myrtle Re&tall and Mr Clarence Teague, whose marriage takes place this month, were entertained, by members of the "Silver Fern" at a "pantry" party, held at the Hastings street Hall. Games and dancing were enjoyed and Miss Phyllis Hocking sang. Numerous useful presents were received by the guests of honour.

SELWYN HOUSE SPORTS. The Selwyn House annual sports gathering was held yesterday afternoon, at "Wharema," the residence of Mr Arthur Sims, Opawa, where the gardens were looking very gay and beautiful. The various events were keenly contested, and a record in the higli was established by Joan Browne, who is 14 years and 7 months, and jumped 4ft 7iu, while Rachel Wright jumped 4ft 6-lin. Joan Browne won Miss G. Wilkinson s challenge cup for the most points in four events, scoring the possible number, 20 points. She also won Mr Norton Francis's cup for the 400 yards race, Mr A. K. Firth's cup for the senior cup, and Mrs Browne's cup for the 100 yards open. Mrs Arthur Sims was presented with a bouquet by a tiny.pupil, J.
