All other members of the Board'and senior officers also expressed keen .appreciation of Mr Galbraith's services. In reply, Mr Galbraith said "that it was his intention to take a holiday from public life. He • thanked .'the members for their gift, and added .that he would read of the Board's -dois'grf with "the greatest interest. . Cheers were: given' for Mr and Mrs Galbraith, and both were toasted. The ceremony concluded with the singing of "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows.''
