SUMNER DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of tho Sumner District High School was held on Tuesday night. Present: Messrs E. A. Johnson (chairman), L. H. Fee (recietnry), J. Browne, G. S. Mclven<sie, H. IS Crawshaw, and H Ford. The chairman reported that in aoLordance with the wishes of the committee, tho Mayor had called a public meeting to discuss the next borough and school picnic. He also stated that the Education Board had been communicated with regarding the state of the committee's finances. The meeting agreed to thank the Board for its consideration, and to review the position at the end of next January. A report was received on the dance recital given in aid of the funds of the school by the pupils of Miss Iris Edmonds. It was decided to write thanking both Miss Edmonds and Mrs A. L. Shand for their valuable assistance in this matter. Correspondence was read from the provisional picnic committee, asking for the names t.f representatives of the general borough picnic committee. Messrs Browne, Ford, and Crawshaw wore appointed Consideration of improvements to the grounds was held over till after the holidays. The headmaster's report showed that tne roll was being maintained, and that the average attendance was good in both departments.
