CHRISTCHURCH HARMONIC SOCIETY.
CIVIC THEATRE. Under the capable leadership of Madame Josephine Ottlee, tho Christchurch Harmonic Society will give the final concert for the year to-morrow and on Saturday. It may not be generally known that the Harmonic Society, in its desire to foster the cause of good music in the community, caters largely for the secondary schools, and issues invita tions for a certain number of children to attend each of the concerts. This action has met with very favourable comment from the leaders of musical life in the City, and is bound to assist the cause of music. The concert this time will consist mainly of part-songs and choruses, and will include one each for the ladies' and men's voices. * 'Three Choral Pictures," by Cyril Jenkins, is probably the best, choral number the choir has yet done, and is, in itself, worth hearing. The soloists will be Mrs Graham Jamieson, Mr G. V. Greer, and Joan Boniface—the successful little pianist who won the gold medal for New Zealand this year. The booking is at Chas. Begg and Company.
