ST. LUKE'S CARNIVAL.
Thu carnival organised by the parishioners of St. Luke's to raiso funds towards rebuild ing the schoolroom in Manchester street, will be opened at 2.30 this afternoon by the Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C. Decorated stalls will be abundantly stocked with goods of every description, specia-1 .ttention having been given to Christmas presents, for which a number of useful but inexpensive gifts f all kinds have been provided. A professional orchestra will supply incidental music. A series of half-hour entertainments will be provided, to-day's programme being:—4.ls, display of folk dancing under the direction of Miss Gladys Ferguson, B.A ; 7 30 p.m., display by Mr 0. Buckett and his pupils; 8.30 p.m., exhibition of fencing by the Swords Club; 9 30 p.m., grand concert under the direction of Mr F. a. Bullock. The carnival will be continued to-morrow, and will be open each day from 2.30 to 10
